Harmony board approves Q1 budget amendments, adds federal and state grant funding

Finance staff presented first-quarter budget amendments for fiscal 2025–26 and the board voted to adopt the amendments.
The Q1 presentation (covering July–September) outlined a roughly $2 million positive change in net assets for the quarter and a combined budgeted increase in net assets of about $12 million when including a projected 2% state-aid increase (approximately $10 million). Staff said the quarter's amendments add initial federal grant budgets of about $30.7 million (primarily Title I, B and Perkins), a state instructional materials allotment of about $4 million, an interactive online learning grant near $1 million and carryforward of roughly $1.8 million for a safety grant. The presenter noted some functional reclassifications between expense categories that do not affect net assets.
A trustee moved to approve the Q1 budget amendments as presented; the motion was seconded and approved by the board.
Staff said the district's revenues for the consolidated funds are outpacing expenditures so far in Q1, and that several increases reflect enrollment-driven state aid and normal grant carryforwards. The board did not request substantive amendments on the record.
