County ratifies Idaho Office of Drug Policy grant; $17,000 earmarked for canine

Franklin County commissioners unanimously ratified a grant agreement with the Idaho Office of Drug Policy after a presentation by Sheriff Cuyler Stoker.
Stoker told the board the statewide grant totals $300,000; between the Preston Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office they will receive more than one-third of the total award. He said $17,000 of the grant funds are specifically earmarked for the purchase of a police canine. Because the grant required signatures before the next meeting, commissioners ratified the agreement to enable receipt and expenditure under the grant terms.
There was no recorded dissent; the motion to ratify passed unanimously (motion by Zan Bowles, second Zach Stewart).
