Council reviews water-well work, fire updates and treasurer applicant

At the Nov. 5 meeting the Lindell Town Council received a water-well update including a CDBG-related grant offsetting $47,000 in costs, fire-department maintenance notes and an application from Roger Stoll for the treasurer role; planning-and-zoning subdivision work was noted.
After the road-vacation business, council members heard several routine operational updates.
Water-department staff reported progress on a new well and maintenance plans for old wells, including fencing, storage-tank cleaning and replacement of a stuck 10-inch valve. Council members said contingency funds will cover the immediate work and noted $47,000 of costs will be covered by grant aid, which the chair described as ‘‘a big win.’'
The fire department reported brush-truck servicing and battery replacement on an engine; the council also discussed installing Jim Lindsay memorial signs on the fire station and planned to schedule installation before the town Christmas party.
Planning and zoning members said a draft subdivision ordinance and related bullet points are being finalized and likely will return to the council in December. On personnel, the council noted one applicant for the treasurer position, Roger Stoll, and discussed training and handover logistics if he is selected.
No formal votes were taken on these operational items; the council moved to adjourn after completing the agenda.
