The Lynndyl Town Council approved an amendment to the 2024–2025 budget during its May meeting after staff reported two line items exceeded projections. Chair (speaker 3) told the council the town had budgeted $1,000 for licenses and permits but recorded $4,051, and budgeted $3,100 for charges and services related to parks and the cemetery but spent $4,710.
"We had budgeted $1,000, and we were 4,051. So we were 405%," Chair said, noting the licenses and permits figure represents positive revenue while parks and cemetery costs ran over. The chair said the two variances were the only material overages that required an amendment to reflect actual activity.
Council members moved and seconded to close the public hearing and then to approve the amended budget ordinance for 2024–2025. Speaker 5 moved to approve the amendment and Speaker 1 seconded; the meeting proceeded without a roll-call tally recorded in the transcript.
The amendment updates the town’s adopted budget to account for the higher permits revenues and higher parks/cemetery expenditures. Council members did not identify additional budget cuts or offsets at the meeting and directed staff to include the figures in next year’s capital planning as appropriate.
