Lindell council hears well, fire and staffing updates; grant covers well costs

At the Nov. 5 meeting the Lindell Town Council received several routine operational updates: public-works and emergency services staff reported progress on a new well and repairs to storage-tank equipment, and the council said a $47,000 grant will reduce the town’s cost for well abandonment work.
A public-works/fire official (S9) told the council the new well work is underway, the storage tank will be cleaned and a stuck 10-inch valve will be replaced, and the brush truck had earlier been serviced. Chair S4 said contingency funds were paying for most work and that the $47,000 grant will relieve the town of that expense.
Council members also discussed a small allotment of Class C road funds and outside donations — including a $168,000 contribution from TransWest Power discussed earlier in the meeting for road development. On personnel, the council introduced Roger Stoll as the only applicant for the treasurer position; his letter described 25 years in banking and volunteer service, and council members said Alexis (staff) would train him if he accepts.
No formal vote on the treasurer appointment was recorded at the meeting; council members made a motion to adjourn after completing the agenda.
