County Administrator Danny Jordan told the Jackson County Board of Commissioners at its Feb. 17 work session that he had received a request from Tim Doney, 911 Director at Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon (ECSO), asking the Board to proclaim April 12–18, 2026 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Jackson County.
“April 12–18, 2026, as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Jackson County,” Jordan said, reading the request. The Board agreed to place the proclamation on a future Board meeting agenda for formal consideration; no vote or formal adoption was taken at the work session.
The item was recorded as an agenda referral for a future regular Board meeting; commissioners did not announce a date for that meeting during the session.
