The Jackson County Board of Commissioners interviewed Fair Board applicant David Heard during its Feb. 3 work session and told staff to prepare an order to appoint him to fill a vacancy on the Fair Board.
Commissioner Rick Dyer welcomed Mr. Heard and the commissioners took turns asking about his experience as an athletic director, his vision for how the county’s upcoming Multi‑Use Pandemic Response Center (MUPRC) could be utilized, and his expectations for attending Fair Board meetings. After the discussion, the Board concluded Mr. Heard meets the requirements to fill the vacancy and asked staff to prepare an order for approval at a future meeting.
The Board did not take a formal vote at the Feb. 3 session; staff will return with an order for the Board’s consideration at a later public meeting.
