Fulton County approves two probation grants totaling $63,800 and acknowledges retention stipend plan

Fulton County commissioners on Dec. 9 approved two state grant authorizations for the county’s Adult Probation Department and acknowledged a retention-efforts plan proposed by the chief probation officer.
Chief Probation Officer Dan Miller asked the board to authorize two 2025–2026 state grants: a $35,000 Intermediate Punishment Treatment Grant and a $28,800 Continuing County Adult Probation/Parole Grant. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to authorize Commissioner Randy H. Bunch to sign the Intermediate Punishment Treatment grant; Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to authorize Commissioner Bunch to sign the Continuing County Adult Probation/Parole grant. Both motions were recorded as approved, with all commissioners voting in favor.
The board also acknowledged a Retention Efforts Letter from Dan Miller describing a stipend funded from a restricted portion of the monthly supervision fee, to be kept in a restricted account and spent only by the President Judge for the Adult Probation Department. The minutes record acknowledgment of the letter but do not specify further implementation steps, a start date for the stipend, or how many staff would be affected.
