Duchesne County Commissioners voted unanimously March 2 to approve a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Duchesne County Library and Uintah County Library to establish a joint shared catalog, patron interface, materials exchange and other agreed services.
Library Director Daniel Mauchley said the MOU formalizes a cooperative working relationship between the two county libraries. He noted that Wasatch County had previously considered joining but is no longer participating. Commissioner Jeff Chugg moved to approve the MOU and authorize the chair to sign; Commissioner Tracy Killian seconded and Commissioners Chugg, Killian and Chairman Greg Miles voted aye.
The MOU is intended to improve resource sharing and patron access across the two counties; library staff will coordinate technical integration and operational details following the Commission’s approval.
