Fulton County commissioners accept retirement notice, approve routine finances and personnel actions

Fulton County commissioners on March 3 approved routine financial items, accepted a long-serving employee’s retirement notice and authorized several administrative actions, including a Krivak Trust payment authorization.
Commissioner Randy H. Bunch called the meeting to order in McConnellsburg. The board approved the Feb. 24, 2026 minutes and voted to pay accounts payable dated March 3, 2026 totaling $335,634.88 (General Fund $291,026.05; Liquid Fuels $12.75; 911 $8,955.97; Hazmat $2,500.00; Domestic Incentive $3,233.58; Medical Assistance Transportation $3,269.04; Debt Service $25,776.52; Pass-through Funds $860.97). The board also approved payroll dated March 6, 2026 for $132,711.81.
Domestic Relations Director Tina Gress delivered a letter of retirement after 25 years with the county; Commissioner Bunch moved to accept her retirement effective July 11, 2026, and the motion carried unanimously. The minutes record that Gress previously worked for the Fulton County Newspaper and as a realtor and serves on the board of Fulton County Medical Center.
The board approved a travel request for Chief Probation Officer Dan Miller to attend the Annual CJAB Conference April 20–22, 2026, and authorized a lease from DBB (Doing Better Business) for a printer for MDJ Heming’s office at a total contract price of $3,647.00. Commissioners also approved a Plan Asset invoice from Conrad Siegel for $3,844.25 to be paid from plan assets.
Following a hiring discussion led by HR Administrator Mary Huston and Court Administrator Rebekah Reigner (participating by Zoom), the commissioners voted to hire Laurel Griest as Office Deputy I for the Prothonotary’s Office, effective March 4, 2026; a separate Salary Board set Griest’s starting salary and its minutes are filed separately.
Human Services Director Julie Dovey presented a Krivak Trust application; Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve assistance up to a maximum of $35,000.00, with the applicant’s information recorded as confidential under HIPAA. The motion passed unanimously.
County auditors Penny Kipp, Rebecca Kendall and Holly Falkosky presented an audit review to the board. Commissioners also met with County Coroner Berley Souders and his insurance representative to discuss insurance matters related to on-call duties, and Building and Maintenance Director Brad Seville provided an update on Phase II renovations for a newly purchased building on Lincoln Way West in McConnellsburg.
The board held multiple executive sessions for personnel matters during the meeting. Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to adjourn at 1:03 p.m.; the motion carried.
