Pipestone County commissioners gave unanimous approval on routine fiscal and procurement items at their Feb. 24 meeting, including warrants, right‑of‑way payments, highway equipment purchase and IT licensing.
The board approved the consent agenda — including minutes, auditor warrants (Feb. 13, 19 and 20) and commissioners warrants totaling $173,186.93 and hospital warrants of $459,368.11. Staff presented the vendor breakdown required by Minnesota Statute 375.12, noting the largest vendor payment of $89,555.81 to Woodstock Telephone Company and 55 claims under $2,000 totaling $21,724.70.
Engineer Bergman requested approval of right‑of‑way payments to Kyle and Maggie Minett for SAP 059‑599‑141 ($200) and SAP 059‑599‑152 ($150); the board approved the payments. For highway facilities, Bergman and Facilities Manager Kyle Evans recommended replacing a failing radiant heater with a $6,000 ceiling‑mounted forced‑air unit rather than a $1,700 temporary repair; the board approved the $6,000 purchase.
IT Director Bill Folger presented purchases to maintain software compatibility and backups: 40 Office 2024 Standard LTSC licenses for $13,048 from SHI and a three‑year Veeam Backup and Replication Enterprise Plus license package for 10 sockets from Morris Electronics for $30,938.90; the board approved both purchases. Motions for these items carried unanimously.
