Cramerton manager schedules ribbon-cutting for Centennial Park and an overnight water shutdown for valve replacement

Town Manager Zach Ollis told the Board on March 18 that Centennial Park is open and preparations are underway for a ribbon-cutting that will unveil the Graham and Gayle Bell Pavilion. Staff are finalizing the event and outreach, and invitations will be sent to state representatives.
Ollis also reported the town is finalizing plans with Two Rivers for a pressure reducer valve replacement. The project is expected to be advertised and scheduled for overnight work on May 9 and possibly May 10, with crews working from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. He said the valve is nearing the end of its life and that the work will require a water shutoff of about 12 hours; the town will notify residents via alerts, Facebook posts and signage at neighborhood entrances.
Ollis thanked the ABC Board for its gift and commended local police for a quick response to a neighborhood incident. He asked commissioners to help spread notifications about the planned outage to ensure residents receive the alerts.
