Cramerton approves financing to replace firefighters' SCBA air packs; contract due Dec. 27

The Town of Cramerton Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution on Dec. 10 to finance replacement self‑contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for the fire department using Community First National Bank. Manager Zach Ollis recapped that Chief Folk presented options in October and explained the town could use grant funds currently earning interest in a certificate of deposit to supplement the purchase.
Ollis said staff compared community pricing with rates from Bank of OzK and determined Community First National Bank offered better terms for the regional initiative. "We received the contract yesterday, and it needs to be submitted by the 27th of December," Ollis said. Commissioner Dixie Abernathy moved to approve the financing resolution; Commissioner Jennifer Ramsey seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The resolution authorizes the town to execute Exhibit B and proceed with the financing arrangements so the fire department can procure the SCBA equipment in line with earlier discussions.
Next step: staff will execute the contract with Community First National Bank and proceed with procurement and delivery schedules as permitted by the financing terms.
