Rowena Klima re-elected chair; Michelle Valverde elected vice chair of Parks and Community Services Board

Paul praised Klima’s community outreach and consistent attendance in support of the nomination. The board then nominated and elected Michelle Valverde as vice chair; the chair noted Valverde’s engagement and data questions at meetings. The elected officers will serve through June 2026. The chair will continue to preside until the next meeting, as required by the board’s process.
What happens next: the board will proceed under the newly elected leadership. The next scheduled meeting with substantive agenda items is September 17.
