Environmental Services Commission elects chair and vice chair in unanimous votes

The Environmental Services Commission conducted its annual officer elections at the June 5 meeting. With nominations closed for chair, the nominated commissioner accepted and the commission recorded a 4–0 roll-call vote electing that nominee chair. For vice chair, Commissioner Letterman was nominated, accepted and was elected by a 4–0 vote.
The chair read the election procedure (based on Robert’s Rules) before taking roll-call votes. The votes were recorded aloud by the chair and the results announced. No contested ballots, abstentions or recusals were recorded during the roll-call process.
These elections were procedural and the commission did not take additional formal actions at that time related to governance. The chair noted one practical benefit of being chair is being invited to serve on the interview panel for a vacant commission position with the City Council office.
