City staff outline Sustainable Bellevue update, seek input on waste, stream and resilience metrics

The update will convert the existing 2021–2025 plan into a 2026–2030 Sustainable Bellevue plan, Stewart said, with staff beginning drafting this summer and an anticipated council adoption in October–November. The update focuses on five plan areas but the commission discussion centered on materials management, waste and natural systems.
Stewart said most of the 78 actions in the current plan have been started or integrated, and the city tracks both overall and per-capita greenhouse-gas metrics. He noted the city’s overall emissions are down roughly 8% from its baseline, but that per-capita emissions have fallen about 26% after accounting for roughly 25% population…
