Fulton County proclaims March 2026 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month; local providers attend signing

FULTON COUNTY, Pa. — The Fulton County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 24 proclaimed March 2026 as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and met with local providers and residents to mark the observance.
Commissioners Randy H. Bunch, Steven L. Wible and Hervey P. Hann signed the proclamation, which states in part: "March 2026 as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and do commend this observance to all of our citizens and recognize that Fulton County becomes a better place when people with and without disabilities come together to form strong, diverse communities, and knowing we are all One World, many Abilities!" The motion to approve and execute the proclamation passed with unanimous consent.
Attendees included representatives from Occupational Services Inc., Franklin/Fulton Human Services, The Arc of Franklin/Fulton Counties, Full Circle Residence, Lupey Behavioral Services and consumers served by local programs. Commissioners and attendees posed for a group photograph following the signing. No fiscal actions or binding policy changes were recorded as part of the proclamation.
The proclamation is an annual recognition intended to raise awareness of developmental disabilities and local services; the board recorded the observance in the meeting minutes and encouraged community support for inclusion and services.
