Walker County Board tables administrative personnel list after 4–1 vote; superintendent highlights CTE progress

The Walker County Board of Education on Feb. 12 tabled an Administrative Personnel List after a 4–1 vote while approving several other personnel and financial items at its regular meeting.
Superintendent Dennis Willingham opened the New Business portion and recognized students and programs across the district before presenting personnel recommendations. Dr. Willingham noted February is Career Technical Education Month and said Walker County Career and Technical programs have students who “win state and national awards each year.” He added, “The HDCI Building is set to be completed this summer,” and thanked the Walker County Area Foundation and the Drummond family for their support.
Board members approved the Regular, Professional and Support Personnel lists unanimously. When the board considered Item 4, the Administrative Personnel List, Board Member Todd Vick moved to table the item; Lee Ann Headrick seconded. Chairman Brad Ingle called the vote; all board members voted to table the item except Dr. Vonda Beaty, who voted no. The board recorded the motion as carried and the administrative list was tabled to a later date. The minutes do not specify which administrative positions were on Item 4.
The meeting record shows the board approved routine business including minutes, financial statements, and several field trips and agreements during the session. Chairman Brad Ingle closed the meeting by announcing the next regular board meeting on March 12, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.; the session ended at 5:18 p.m.
