Commissioners consider options for $1.27 million hail-damage payment

"We can put it in the insurance fund and then transfer or expend as repairs are identified," one commissioner said; another recommended consulting the county auditor and a financial adviser ('Nancy' at MAKO) to ensure proper tracking and compliance. Staff agreed to contact the auditor and financial adviser and to return with a recommended fund structure and a prioritized scope of repairs for the board to approve.
Next steps: staff will consult the auditor and financial adviser, draft recommended fund/accounting treatment for the hail proceeds, and present prioritized repair projects and procurement steps at a future meeting.
