Superintendent reports slight enrollment dip, celebrates AHS cheer and Aggie Band

Dr. Bart Reeves, superintendent of Albertville City Schools, reported district K–12 enrollment at 5,513 as of the morning of Nov. 18, 2025, an increase of 17 students from October. He said the district's FY26 budget had been based on 5,713 students submitted to the state in fall 2024 and that the FY27 ETF budget will be based on 5,523 students submitted in September 2025, a net decrease of 190 students relative to the FY26 budget basis. Dr. Reeves clarified that the enrollment figures exclude PreK and refer to K–12 only.
Reeves also congratulated Albertville High School’s cheerleaders for winning the 7A State Championship in Gameday and noted they will compete at nationals in Orlando in late January or early February. He praised the Aggie Band for an ‘‘outstanding performance at EPCOT’’ and thanked Dr. Cash and staff for organizing the trip for more than 400 students and adults.
Dr. Reeves listed upcoming dates including an ACS employee meeting Nov. 19, Thanksgiving break Nov. 24–28, the Dec. 16 board meeting, early dismissal Dec. 19 and Christmas break Dec. 22–Jan. 4; employees return Jan. 5 and students return Jan. 6. He said the ACS Board Brief will be distributed by 10:00 a.m. the day after each board meeting and that official minutes will be published on Simbli by 4:00 p.m. the following business day.
