Carter County commissioners approved several routine items and a staff-travel sponsorship during the meeting.
The board voted to accept a $2,598.50 quote from DIS Technologies to add enterprise door hardware (card readers) as part of the county’s security upgrade. Commissioners also gave preliminary verbal approval to a redlined security-camera policy pending final vendor review.
By unanimous voice vote the commission approved the consent agenda, which included an RSI weather-data delivery agreement for the airport, an encroachment/approach permit for Southeast Electric, a WEED board appointment of Matt McCabe, and the Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association levy of $260,000 over two years.
Separately, commissioners agreed to sponsor a staff member (Stacy) to attend the national Building Assets Reducing Risk (BAR) conference in California. The staff presentation cited a member registration rate of about $1,100 if purchased before March 1; commissioners discussed travel and lodging options and agreed funding could come from general fund line items. A motion to sponsor Stacy’s attendance was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
