Marshall County Board approves leaves, hires, transfers and stipends

The Marshall County Board of Education approved a package of personnel actions during its Sept. 11 meeting, acting on Superintendent Dr. Cindy Wigley’s recommendations.
Leaves of absence approved included Denise Pierce (custodian) Sept. 25–Dec. 25, 2025; Nanny Meshell Childress (CNP worker) Sept. 5–Oct. 17, 2025; and Erin Gentry (teacher) Oct. 27, 2025–Jan. 12, 2026. The board also approved additional duties, stipends and supplements such as Kellie Bailey’s assignment to bus driving, stipends of $100 per professional development day for Lance McCord and Samantha Cofield, and a supplement for Amanda Walter for teaching during a planning period.
The board approved temporary after-school teacher rosters for Grades K–5 (three times per week, two hours per day, $35/hour), TEAMS contracts (example: Terry Gilbreath — five-year contract at Douglas Middle School), and various temporary and part-time contracts (Butch Starnes; Billy Roy; Keith Stanfield; Molly Lauderdale; Carolyn Cook). Resignations and transfers were accepted as listed (example: Becky Sauls resigned from an additional duty; Shelia Reese’s employment resignation effective Sept. 17, 2025; Amanda Howse transferred to Library Media Specialist, pending certification). New hires approved included AnnaMarie D'Angelo, Joshua Germany, Stephanie Lewis and Teresa Rader, with effective dates and pending-certification notes where applicable.
All personnel items were moved, seconded and approved unanimously in the minutes. The record lists effective dates, stipend amounts, and funding sources for some items (for example, after-school positions are state funded; some stipends are grant funded); the minutes do not include individual employment contracts or further discussion recorded at the meeting.
