Marshall County Board approves hires, supplements and temporary contracts

The board approved additional duties for the Extended Day Program at KDS DAR Elementary and Primary Schools appointing Amber McCallie, Hannah Sims, Beth S. Martin, Francis Nicole Wallace and Macy Stapler. Under a memorandum of agreement with the Marshall County Sheriff's Department the board approved School Resource Officers to work extracurricular and after-school activities (Sierra Bishop listed); the minutes indicate SROs will be paid an hourly rate but do not specify the rate.
The board also approved temporary contracts and long-term substitutes: Cassie Davidson (part-time technology teacher, Brindlee Mountain Primary School, effective Oct. 27, 2025'026-05-31), Alan Garner (part-time EL administrator, Marshall County Schools, effective Oct. 1, 2025'026-09-30; grant funded), Casey Griep and Taylor Hogue (long-term substitutes, Brindlee Mountain High School, effective Oct. 27'025 through Dec. 19 and Dec. 18, 2025, respectively), Stanley Mahan (part-time EL interventionist, Sloman Primary and Douglas Elementary, effective Nov. 10, 2025'026-05-31) and Brooke Willoughby (long-term substitute, Sloman Primary School, effective Jan. 2, 2026'026-05-29). The board approved new employees including Heather Decker and Deana Lynch (CNP workers, effective Nov. 7, 2025), Meredith Short (band director at Brindlee Mountain High School, effective Jan. 2, 2026), Gracie Hunter (teacher at KDS DAR Primary School, effective Dec. 8, 2025, pending certification), Jocelyn Putlovis (instructional assistant, Brindlee Mountain Elementary School, Nov. 7, 2025'026-05-31, pending WorkKeys) and Virginia Francisco Mesino (EL auxiliary teacher, Sloman Primary School, effective Nov. 7, 2025). Motions for these personnel items were recorded as unanimously approved in the minutes.
