J. Kevin Royal M.D., Chairman of the Opelika City Schools Board of Education, presided over the Nov. 18, 2025, regular meeting and opened the session at 4:30 p.m. The board recorded attendance and proceeded to routine business.
The board approved the minutes from the Oct. 28, 2025 regular meeting after a motion by Board Member Patsy Boyd Parker and a second from Tipi Miller; the motion carried unanimously. Later in the meeting the board considered personnel recommendations. Vice-Chairman Antione T. Harvis moved to approve the personnel recommendations; Patsy Boyd Parker seconded and the board voted unanimously to adopt them.
The board voted unanimously to enter an executive session to discuss student matters on a motion by Antione T. Harvis, seconded by Patsy Boyd Parker; the session began at 5:31 p.m. The board later reconvened into open session on a motion by Pearson Alsobrook, seconded by Antione T. Harvis, at 7:59 p.m. The public minutes do not record the substance of the student matters discussed during executive session.
Chairman Royal recommended adjournment at 8:05 p.m.; Tipi Miller moved to adjourn, Antione T. Harvis seconded, and the motion to adjourn passed unanimously.
