Birdville ISD trustees approve personnel items, a teacher nonrenewal, the 2026–27 calendar and the consent agenda

Personnel approvals: President Kunkel announced that Dr. Stinson had accepted 19 resignations and 16 retirements; the board then voted to approve all personnel items as recommended in closed session. The motion to approve personnel items was made by Mr. Tolbert, seconded by Mrs. Sanders Wise, and adopted 6–0 (one trustee absent).
Nonrenewal: Trustees voted to propose nonrenewal of the term contract of teacher John Norgut and directed the superintendent to provide the required notice. The motion was moved by Mr. Tolbert, seconded by Mr. Davis, and approved by voice vote.
Calendar and consent agenda: The board approved the 2026–27 instructional calendar (motion moved by Mr. Drees and seconded by Mrs. Sanders Wise) and adopted the consent agenda in a single motion (moved by Mrs. Sanders Wise and seconded by Mr. Davis); both actions passed unanimously.
Grievance hearing: The board recessed for a level‑3 grievance hearing under cited Texas Government Code provisions and reconvened into open session at 7:51 p.m., reporting the appeal had been withdrawn and no action was taken.
All votes on the items above were recorded as unanimous in open session; Trustee Womble was noted as absent for roll call.
