Board approves two BCBA contracts; superintendent reports on accountability and investment rate

The Cleburne County Board of Education approved two contracts for Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) services at its Jan. 5 meeting in Heflin.
The board voted unanimously to contract with The Stepping Stone Group, LLC and with Lifestyle Change Behaviour Consulting Inc. for BCBA services. Owen McWhorter moved the first contract and Jay Grubbs moved the second; both actions were seconded and recorded as approved by all members present.
In his superintendent’s report, David Howle noted that January is Board Member Appreciation Month, that FY25 accountability reports and the School Information Report (SIR) are available on the system website and at the Central Office, and that the district’s Metro Bank investment account is earning 3.8% for a 12-month term. Howle also said whole-board training is to be scheduled, and reminded the board that the next regular meeting is set for Feb. 2, 2026 at the Central Office.
