He said salt‑sand piles and satellite shop stockpiles are in place for winter and that crews have been addressing beaver issues near Ashley Lake; the department is working with Fish, Wildlife & Parks and a beaver specialist on a fencing solution and will handle materials and permitting as required.
Prunty noted the pavement‑markings contract was awarded to Solo Markings of Billings; he said Solo's schedule is full until early October but the contract calls for completion by Oct. 15 and the crew expects about three days of on‑site work.
On reclamation, Prunty reported contractor LHC has begun hauling topsoil to the Sheepherder pit and will seed after Oct. 1 under county seeding rules; DEQ Phase 1 release will be filed after seeding, with a Phase 2 release following monitoring over two seasons if growth meets standards.
Commissioners approved an addendum to the Robert Pesha & Associates land surveyor professional services agreement to apply a COLA equal to the county employee COLA (2.5%). They also approved release of collateral associated with Shadowwood Storage Units Phase 1 (bond history noted in the staff report as GM234177 and GM234184 after a transfer of ownership and an amended subdivision improvement agreement with anticipated completion date Dec. 1, 2025).
