Commissioners approve several lakeshore permits, deny one extension; McDonald extension granted as last extension

Following the denial of the Daniels Asset Management variance, the Flathead County Board of Commissioners addressed several additional lakeshore permit items Sept. 4.
The commission approved a permit for Bridal 2014 Trust (FLP-25-69) to replace a nonconforming crib dock with an 8-by-60 floating I-dock; staff noted the project would shrink impervious cover and the canopy would be removed. A permit for Thomas Braxton (FLP-25-71) to redistribute accumulated gravel to restore shore grade at Ashley Lake also passed. The commissioners approved DNRC-related permit FLP-25-63 for Ethan and Joanie Petro (leasing DNRC land) to add a breakwater and boat-lift to an existing permitted dock at MacGregor Lake.
The commission granted a one-year extension for the McDonald Family Trust (FLP-24-61) to complete concrete stairs, with commissioners characterizing it as the last extension if work was not completed. Conversely, the commission denied an extension for the Borovac Family Trust (FLP-23-80), citing that no work had been done and noting that financial hardship alone is not a permitted reason for extension under county rules.
