Board approves 21st CCLC after-school program staffing, pay rates for 2025–26

The Colbert County Schools board unanimously approved staffing, pay rates and operating details for the district’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) after-school program at a special meeting on Aug. 8, 2025.
Superintendent Nathan Fuller presented the program plan for Colbert Heights Elementary, Hatton Elementary, Leighton Elementary and Cherokee Elementary. The program is scheduled to run Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Aug. 4, 2025–May 19, 2026. The board approved the required staff-to-student ratio of 1:12.
The board set staff pay rates for the 2025–2026 school year as follows: Site Lead $35.00 per hour; Certified Teacher $30.00 per hour; Non-Certified Teacher $25.00 per hour; Teacher Aide (age 18 & up) $18.00 per hour. The agenda states salaries and benefits will be funded by the 21st CCLC grant.
Named staff for each site were listed on the agenda and the board voted to approve the roster and pay structure. The motion to approve was made by David Yarber, seconded by Thomas Burgess, and recorded as unanimously approved.
Human Resources and program staff are expected to finalize hires and payroll setup before the program start date in early August.
