The Colbert County Schools Board on Sept. 22 approved a slate of personnel actions and teacher contracts for the 2025–2026 school year.
Superintendent Nathan Fuller presented employment recommendations that the board approved unanimously. Actions included countywide hires for bus driver/aide roles (effective dates Sept. 8–15, 2025), paraprofessionals and a child nutrition program assistant effective Oct. 1, 2025, and contract hires such as Stephanie Ellis (Interventionist, New Bethel Elementary, Oct. 2025–May 2026).
The board also approved multiple TEAMS teacher contracts, including three-year advanced contracts for teachers at Cherokee High School, Colbert County High School and Colbert Heights High School, and one-year preliminary contracts where noted. The minutes record an intermittent FMLA leave for Azhala Reeder beginning Sept. 3, 2025.
The board approved a Literacy After School Tutoring program to pay tutors $35 per hour, up to three hours per week, to be funded by Title I. Substitute rosters for multiple schools were listed in the minutes as information supporting staffing for the coming year.
All personnel and contract items were approved by unanimous vote.
