Colbert County Schools board adopts FY26 budget after second hearing

The Colbert County Schools Board of Education adopted its fiscal year 2026 budget following a second public hearing on Sept. 22.
Staff member Shauna James presented the FY26 budget proposal during the hearing and invited board questions. Superintendent Nathan Fuller recommended approval of the agenda and the budget. Board Member David Yarber moved to adopt the FY26 budget; Steve Stayton seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
The adoption followed an amendment to the meeting agenda proposed by Vice President Jarrod Johnson to add an action item after the personnel section. The board approved the amended agenda by unanimous vote before taking the budget motion.
Board President Jackie Witt presided over the meeting and a quorum was confirmed at the outset. The board did not record individual roll-call votes in the minutes; motions were recorded as unanimously approved.
