Commissioners authorize public-hearing notice for West Valley Fire District annexation in Hobson

Lincoln Chute, the county's fire service area manager, explained the annexation affects a small line of county fire service area north of Kilometers Ranch Road between Whitefish and West Valley and said he "definitely support[s] it a 100%." Commissioners moved to authorize the notice for the public hearing and the motion carried by voice vote.
The board did not take final action on the annexation itself; the authorization was limited to publishing a notice and setting the hearing process in motion.
