Colbert County Schools board approves multiple hires, long-term substitutes and leaves

Several staff members were approved for maternity/FMLA/paid parental leave: Amanda Michael (Leighton Elementary teacher) from Jan. 5 to March 13, 2026; Kaci Colbert (counselor, Colbert County High School) from Jan. 23 to March 23, 2026; and Kacey Hallmark (Leighton Elementary teacher) from Jan. 26 to May 11, 2026. The minutes also record that Lisa Wagnon, Child Nutrition Manager at New Bethel Elementary School, was granted catastrophic leave effective Oct. 1, 2025.
David Yarber moved to approve the personnel recommendations; Steve Stayton seconded. The motion is recorded as unanimously approved in the minutes. The minutes do not provide salary details for the new hires or substitutes beyond supplement information recorded elsewhere for athletics.
