Cramerton board ratifies downtown streetscape contract, sets annexation hearing and raises part‑time fire pay

Consent items approved included Budget Amendment #1 to appropriate funds to raise part‑time Fire Department pay from $18 to $20 per hour; a voluntary annexation request (ANA24‑01) from Bowman Development and INAARA, Inc. for approximately 0.585 acres associated with the Vistas at Cramerton preliminary plat, with a resolution fixing a public hearing for Aug. 20, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.; and ratification of a contract with Absolute Turf Management, LLC to complete the Downtown Streetscape and Park Improvements Project. Staff noted construction for the streetscape project was expected to commence later in the week and a pre‑construction meeting was scheduled.
Commissioner Dixie Abernathy moved to approve the consent agenda; Commissioner Kathy Ramsey seconded, and the board voted "all in favor." Items 6a–6c (minutes) were pulled for later approval and were not part of the vote.
The board provided no additional conditions on the annexation resolution or the streetscape contract during the meeting. The pre‑construction meeting and the scheduled public hearing on Aug. 20 are the next steps recorded on the record.
