Cramerton commissioners approve consent package including five-year Waste Pro contract and lease extension

The Town of Cramerton Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a consent agenda on June 25 that bundled several administrative and contract items, including a new solid-waste contract, a lease amendment, budget adjustments and advisory-board appointments.
Town Manager Zach Ollis told the Board that the Waste Pro of North Carolina contract begins July 1, 2024, and runs for five years with an initial termination date of July 1, 2029 and options to renew for two additional five‑year terms. The Board also approved the First Amendment to the Town’s Lease with Option to Purchase for 661 Eagle Road in Belmont, extending the contract to June 30, 2027.
The Board approved Budget Amendments #12–#14. Amendment #12 increases capital outlay to cover the NuPipe downtown stormwater infrastructure repair; Amendment #13 establishes a land acquisition account in Fund 56; and Amendment #14 adjusts departmental budgets and records accruals to ensure operational funding through the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. Staff characterized Amendment #14 as a standard year‑end balancing action.
The Board appointed Spencer Schaible and Forest King to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board for three‑year terms expiring December 31, 2026. The consent vote was unanimous.
