Downtown streetscape work in Cramerton completes brickwork, widens accessible walkway

Chase Sturgis updated the Board of Commissioners on progress in the downtown streetscape project during the Sept. 3 workshop, reporting work from Day 31 through Day 42.
Sturgis said that on Day 35 all brickwork was completed. Staff have backfilled areas, added extra drainage to address concerns, widened the accessible walkway from 4 feet to 5 feet to allow wheelchair access, and added an additional seat wall on the parking-lot side of the fire hydrant to match other seat walls. Concrete has been poured and dried in recently completed sections.
The presentation focused on construction progress and site adjustments; no change orders or contract awards were announced at the workshop.
