At the Aug. 6 workshop, Commissioner Jennifer Ramsey reported citizen feedback about the speed bumps installed on 11th Street and in the Timberlake neighborhood, saying some residents have reported adverse effects on their vehicles even as the devices have reduced speeding.
Ramsey asked the board to consider alternatives that would preserve traffic calming benefits while being less damaging to cars. Assistant Town Manager Josh Watkins said he and Town Manager Zach Ollis will present a set of replacement options at the board's next meeting.
No formal vote or funding request was made during the workshop; the exchange was recorded as direction for staff to return with proposals.
