Board recognizes students and staff; Takeda and CORE outline bond schedule and community outreach

The board opened with student recognitions—pledges led by Collegiate Academy students and an orchestra/mariachi presentation from Permantor Middle School—followed by staff and board member acknowledgements for military service and district contributions.
Sheila Robinson of The Commit Partnership presented awards including the 2025 Catalyst Campus Award for Highlands Elementary and an effective governance award for the board. "Nearly 40% of Cedar Hill ISD students who had previously not met state standards in math scored at least at the approaches level," Robinson said in highlighting learning acceleration at Highlands.
The board then received a detailed bond-program update from its bond manager and Takeda: projects in design (Elkins Lewis), projects moving to bidding (Waterford Oaks, Plummer Elementary), and construction sequencing (High Point in phase 3 with phase 4 scheduled for summer 2026). The Takeda presenter noted coordinated work on security cameras, PA systems and furniture procurement and said pre-bid and community outreach will be used to recruit local vendors for upcoming bids.
What happens next: The facilities and bond oversight teams will pursue permitting, bidding and vendor outreach, and trustees expect further GMP submissions and approval items in coming months.
