Crowley ISD launches parent-led 'Learning Together Coalition' and 'Book the Stadium' literacy event

Parents and staff developed the coalition's first initiative — a districtwide literacy event called 'Book the Stadium' slated for March 30 — which the group intends to run "with families by families," Rowe said. The event will feature campus booths focused on literacy activities (bookmarks, readers reading to younger students), outreach to community partners and multilingual participation; organizers set success criteria, including goals for multiple family attendees per campus.
Trustees and staff discussed volunteer burnout and representation; Rowe and parent volunteers said the coalition is working to distribute responsibilities across campus committees and recruit broader volunteer participation. Trustees asked about multilingual outreach and vendors; Rowe said libraries and community partners have been contacted and that the parent group will continue outreach and expansion.
