Crowley ISD reports TIA designations, $4.5M in allotments and expansion plans

Rebecca Barton, Crowley ISD's teacher incentive allotment coordinator, presented the district's TIA results and priorities, saying the district's designation components were validated by the Texas Education Agency. "Crowley ISD's data were successfully validated for the fourth consecutive year," Barton told the board, and she said the district's validation "reflects the strength of our system."

Barton summarized designation counts for the 2024–25 submission: "10 CISD teachers earned the recognized designation, 38 achieved exemplary, and 12 attained the distinguished master level." She also provided illustrative allotment amounts: "The CISD average allotment for a recognized designation is approximately $4,700. An exemplary designation is approximately 9,500, and a master designation is approximately 17,800." Barton said the district's allotment funding for TIA has strengthened recruitment and retention, citing "approximately $4,500,000 in allotment funding."

Board members praised the program and asked about growth and participation. Trustees noted the number of teachers at higher salary levels (Barton said the district had 96 teachers making over $80,000, 34 making over $90,000 and three making over $100,000) and discussed expansion phases for additional eligible assignments. Superintendent McFarland and trustees framed the program as a district priority for recruiting and retaining high-quality teachers; Barton said a phase-6 expansion is planned for the 2026–27 school year and the district is preparing a full-system renewal application to TEA.
