Foley also outlined motion 26-111, a three-year hazardous materials emergency preparedness grant intended to increase hazmat response safety. The year-1 award is $28,502, with a required year-1 match of $7,609 to be met with staff time; grant-funded activities include annual three-day hazmat trainings and a complex-incident functional exercise.
Both motions were moved to the council consent agenda for March 18 after the chair asked for questions and none were raised at the committee meeting.
