Staff said they expect to return to council April 1 with a recommended contractor and to mobilize construction after contract paperwork with work staged over the summer and paving completed in the fall. Staff emphasized phasing and sequencing will be used to maintain pedestrian and vehicle access during construction on the narrow streets.
Councilmembers acknowledged the neighborhood’s long wait for repairs and thanked staff and engineers for resolving complex underground utility issues. A friendly motion amendment limited the requested budget adjustments to those specified in the fiscal‑impact section of the staff report.
