Fulton County commissioners approve new dispatch clocks, grant-funded regional support and two-year Hazmat agreement

EMA/911 Director Brian Barton told the commissioners the dispatch clocks used in local dispatch operations are more than 20 years old and are "in dire need of replacement." Barton said the department has implemented a system called "Pre Alert" and that the information has been sent to the county fire departments as part of training and operational updates. Following that report, Commissioner Randy H. Bunch moved to approve a ComPros quote for two dispatch clocks in the amount of $4,940.00, including hardware and installation; the motion passed with all commissioners voting in favor.
Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve and execute the 2026 Mission Critical Partners Regional Support Contract for Professional Services; the meeting record notes the contract is fully grant funded. Commissioners also approved a McCutcheon Enterprises, Inc. Hazmat Team two-year agreement with payment amounts of $2,500 for fiscal year 2026 and $7,500 for fiscal year 2027; that motion was recorded as carried.
The approvals secure both a technology upgrade for emergency communications and multi-year agreements intended to sustain regional emergency response capabilities. The meeting minutes do not record further debate on funding sources for the Hazmat agreement beyond the stated payment amounts.
