The Snohomish County Council moved into an executive session during its March 10 administrative meeting to discuss pending litigation under Washington law and returned without announcing any anticipated action.
A staff member announced on the record that the executive session was being convened "for pending litigation pursuant to RCW 42.30.110 paragraph 1 subsection I for approximately 10 minutes to start, which would put us at 09:13." During the session, the clerk announced several five-minute extensions, sequentially moving the expected end time from 9:13 to 9:18, 9:23, 9:28, 9:33 and then 9:38.
The council returned from executive session and recessed until its 10:00 a.m. finance committee meeting. The staff had stated at the outset that no action was anticipated to follow the executive session.
