The Arts & Public Places (APP) board voted to cancel the Semiquincentennial Art Competition project after the working group reported persistent logistical obstacles.
Andy moved to cancel the project, citing timing, scope and coordination issues that could not be overcome in the months remaining before the planned show; the motion was seconded and the board approved the recommendation. Staff noted that canceling now leaves the Step Up gallery with an opening in four months and said staff would notify Diane at Step Up and inform the county manager's office to remove the item from APP's work plan.
