The Lake Hamilton School Board voted unanimously on Sept. 15 to approve the district's 2025-26 operating budget. The motion was made by Dr. Brian Peters and seconded by Matt Diggs and passed 4-0.
Board President Mark Curry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Superintendent Dr. Tony Thurman presented the budget recommendation during his pre-action reports; the minutes record the board approved the operating budget as presented but do not include a dollar total in the meeting record.
The approval was one of several formal motions taken at the meeting. Other items on the agenda included recommended technology upgrades for the professional development/board room, a Facilities Master Plan resolution, emergency HVAC purchases and personnel actions. Each of those motions was recorded as approved 4-0 in the minutes.
The board did not record detailed debate about the budget in the minutes provided; the district will proceed under the approved operating plan for the 2025-26 year. The minutes note standard procedural approvals earlier in the meeting, including adoption of the Aug. 18 minutes and the financial statements.
Next steps listed in the minutes reflect routine implementation and do not specify additional public hearings; any further actions required by state law or district policy are not detailed in the meeting record.
