Cramerton staff recommends temporary radar sign and speed humps for 11th Street during ballpark events

Town Manager Zach Ollis told the Board of Commissioners on Nov. 14 that staff have been tracking speeding on 11th Street during ballpark events and believe the existing policy does not address every concern.
Ollis said staff recommend two temporary measures while they review the policy: purchasing a portable radar sign at an estimated cost of about $3,300 and using temporary speed humps for large events. Parks & Recreation would keep the speed humps in inventory and install them as needed. Ollis said these measures would give staff time to review and potentially revise the policy without immediately changing the permanent standard.
The board did not record a formal vote on purchasing the sign or the humps during the meeting; the presentation was a staff recommendation to be further considered as part of policy review and potential future action.
