Cramerton authorizes staff to install temporary speed bumps on 11th Street, with option to make them permanent

On Jan. 2 the Board of Commissioners authorized staff to install temporary speed bumps on 11th Street and gave staff the discretion to make installations permanent if evaluations show it is appropriate.
Town Manager Zach Ollis said staff would go out that week to evaluate 11th Street and recommended potential locations. Commissioner Jennifer Ramsey relayed citizen suggestions for two specific locations; Mayor Pro Tempore Richard Atkinson moved to give staff authority to install temporary speed bumps and to install permanent ones if necessary. Commissioner Scott Kincaid seconded the motion and the board voted 5-0 in favor.
The authorization gives staff operational authority to install temporary devices immediately; any permanent installations will proceed consistent with engineering review and town standards.
