The Town of Cramerton approved master on-call engineering contracts with seven firms and acknowledged an administrative change naming WithersRavenel as the town engineer effective Dec. 1.
Assistant Town Manager Josh Watkins said staff issued a Request for Qualifications earlier in the year and selected Freese Nichols, HDR, Kimley‑Horn and Associates, LandDesign, LIB, Volker and WithersRavenel for the three‑year on‑call list. Watkins emphasized that the master contracts set maximum potential dollar amounts per firm but do not authorize any specific work; individual task orders and budget approvals will be required before work begins.
Commissioner Richard Atkinson moved to approve the on‑call contracts; Commissioner Scott Kincaid seconded and the vote was 4–0 in favor. Watkins also told the board WithersRavenel would take over as the Town’s engineer on Dec. 1.
The contracts create a pre‑qualified pool the town can draw on for plan review and other engineering services; future work will be scoped and funded through separate task orders and budget actions.
