Fulton County commissioners approve payables, personnel actions and appointments

At its Dec. 16 meeting the Fulton County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved $281,921.91 in payables, dismissed a Domestic Relations employee effective Dec. 8, authorized a job posting for an Enforcement Officer 1, approved a software renewal, confirmed appointments and reappointments to county boards, and approved an inmate physician-services request.
The Fulton County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 16 approved a slate of routine administrative actions including payables of $281,921.91, personnel actions in the Domestic Relations office, a software renewal, board appointments and a request for inmate physician services.
On a motion by Commissioner Hervey P. Hann the board voted unanimously to approve payables dated Dec. 16 totaling $281,921.91. The minutes list a Fund 100 (General Fund) disbursement of $214,588.09 and smaller amounts charged to Funds 227 (SFC Technology Grant) $330.26; 231 (SFC Evidence Based Practice) $142.50; 238 (911) $20,705.31; 256 (Domestic Relations) $50.54; and 276 (Opioid Settlement Funds) $46,105.21.
Commissioners met with Domestic Relations Director Tina Gress and voted to dismiss a Domestic Relations employee retroactive to Dec. 8, 2025, on a motion by Commissioner Hann. The board also authorized advertising for an "Enforcement Officer 1" vacancy to be posted internally and externally.
Other unanimous votes recorded in the meeting: a retroactive renewal of Momentive Software, Inc. for the Fiscal Department at an annual cost of $1,660.48 (moved by Commissioner Steven L. Wible); approval of a Sheriff's Department request for physician services for an inmate at the Bedford County Correctional Facility (moved by Commissioner Randy H. Bunch); appointment of Thomas Peppernick to the Fulton County Industrial Development Authority Board of Directors for a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2027 (moved by Commissioner Bunch); and reappointment of Margie McGuire (contractor), Paula Shives (member-at-large), Thomas Morton (elected official) and Daniel Schriever (member-at-large) to two-year terms on the Fulton County Agricultural Land Preservation Board, expiring Dec. 31, 2027 (moved by Commissioner Hann).
The board approved the 2026 Commissioners' meeting dates for public advertisement in the Fulton County Newspaper, entered two brief executive sessions for personnel matters during the meeting, and recorded that a DCED financial monitoring interview scheduled for 11:30 a.m. was cancelled by DCED in favor of a meeting with SEDA Cog and the chief clerk. The meeting adjourned at 11:45 a.m.
Separate minutes were filed for the Retirement Board meeting that set the employee pension contribution rate earlier in the morning.
